02Eligibility

Master’s Program Master’s & PH.D. Integrated Program
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements
1) Applicants who have obtained, or are expected to obtain by February 2027 (March 2027 for graduates of overseas universities),   a bachelor’s degree in Korea or abroad, or who are recognized by law as having an equivalent level of education or higher.
2) Applicants who have obtained the minimum score designated for the relevant admission unit on a regular TEPS or TOEFL test.
Ph.D. Program
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements
1) Applicants who have obtained, or are expected to obtain by February 2027 (March 2027 for graduates of overseas universities),    a master’s degree in Korea or abroad, or who are recognized by law as having an equivalent level of education or higher.
2) Applicants who have obtained the minimum score designated for the relevant admission unit on a regular TEPS or TOEFL test.

○ Recognized English Test Scores: Scores from a regular TEPS or TOEFL iBT test.
1) Scores from a regular test taken and officially released within two years as of the application deadline (October 2, 2026), and entered in the application form. (TOEFL MyBest Scores and Home Edition scores are also accepted)

2) Scores previously recognized by Seoul National University for admission to a master’s program or for a qualification examination for thesis submission.

  • Scores taken within 10 years as of the application deadline may be accepted. Applicants must enter the test session and score in the application form and contact the academic administration office of their college/school.
  • The score must meet the current minimum English test score requirement for application.
 ※ For universities in countries other than the six countries specified by the Office of Admissions (the United States, the United   Kingdom, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, and Ireland), submission of an English test score is mandatory.
* Universities (including graduate schools) located in Korea are not included, even if they are affiliated with institutions in foreign countries. This does not apply to cases where an applicant completed part of their studies in Korea and subsequently studied in an English-speaking country, or where an applicant studied at an Asian campus located in a non-English-speaking country.

※ TOEFL My Best Scores Criteria

For TOEFL MyBest Scores, the earliest test date among the four sectiontest dates must fall within two years of the application deadline

(Example) If the scores were obtained as shown below, the test date for My Best Scores is November 10, 2019 (the test date of the Writing Section, which is the earliest test date among the four sections), and the two-year validity period is calculated from this date.

05Selection Process

Stage Process
Stage 1 Applicants will be selected for the first stage based on document screening scores, with up to twice the number of applicants to be admitted selected as first-stage successful candidates
Stage 2 Final successful candidates will be selected based on interview and oral examination scores among the successful candidates from Stage 1

06Admission Schedule

1) Application Submission (Online Application Only): September 28, 2026 (Mon), 10:00 – October 2, 2026 (Fri), 17:00
2) Submission of Required Documents (excluding the Application Form, Personal Statement, and Study Plan): October 6, 2026 (Tue), 17:00 * Documents must arrive by the deadline.
3) Announcement of First-Round Successful Applicants: October 23, 2026 (Fri)
4) Interview and Oral Examination: October 30, 2026 (Fri)
※ Online interviews are not available
5) In-depth Oral Interview: October 31 (Sat.) – November 5 (Thu.), 2026 ※ Master’s and Master’s-Doctoral Integrated Program applicants only: Applicants must contact the assigned professor individually

07Important Notes for Applicants

1) The application is considered complete only when the application fee has been paid by the application deadline. No additional application period will be provided. Applicants should check their access environment in advance during the application period.
2) After completing the application and paying the application fee, applicants may not change the program or admission unit, and the application cannot be canceled or the application fee refunded. Applicants must carefully review the admission guide and all requirements before completing the application. (Personal information and the personal statement may be revised until the application deadline.)
3) Applicants may not apply to two or more admission units. Duplicate applications will result in disqualification from all admission units.
4) Under Article 70 of the SNU Academic Regulations, dual enrollment is prohibited. After admission to SNU, students may not be simultaneously enrolled in or on leave of absence from two or more SNU programs or another university. Violation may result in cancellation of admission or enrollment.

08 Enrollment and Documents for Admitted Students

A. Enrollment
1) Period: February 1, 2027 (Monday), 10:00 – February 5, 2027 (Friday), 16:00 (tentative)
2) Location: Branches of NongHyup Bank, Shinhan Bank, and Woori Bank nationwide; Internet and mobile banking are also available.
3) Tuition: As stated on the tuition payment notice.
4) Tuition Payment Notice: Available for direct printing from the SNU Admissions Website → Graduate School Admission Notices.
5) Admission will be canceled if the student does not complete enrollment within the designated period.
B. Documents/ Notes
1) Deadline: By the end of February 2027 (detailed schedule to be announced later).
2) Location: AI Graduate School Administrative Office.
Documents Notes
  • Certificate of Bachelor’s Degree — for admitted students to the Master’s and Integrated Master’s & Ph.D. programs
  • Certificate of Master’s Degree — for admitted students to the Ph.D. program.
  • Original documents are required.
  • Graduates of overseas universities/graduate schools are subject to Apostille requirements as described below
  • Graduates of overseas universities who are exempted from the English proficiency requirement for the Ph.D. program because their bachelor’s degree was awarded by an overseas university must submit an Apostille for the bachelor’s degree.
※ Among admitted students who graduated from overseas universities/graduate schools, including those exempted from submitting an English proficiency score, an Apostille Certificate must be submitted if the country is a member of the Apostille Convention. For countries that are not members, a Certificate of Overseas Educational Institution Verification or consular authentication must be submitted.
  • For information on Apostille authorities by country, refer to the HCCH website: www.hcch.net → Members & Parties → HCCH Members.
  • Documents not written in Korean or English must be accompanied by a notarized Korean or English translation.
  • Graduates of universities/graduate schools in China must submit consular authentication or an Apostille for graduation and degree certificates, together with the Online Verification Report of Student Record from CHSI. See www.chsi.com.cn.
※ Failure to submit the required documents by the designated deadline without a special reason may result in cancellation of admission.
